An agreement has been achieved that the stabilization of macro-economic trends in Serbia has created conditions for the gradual decrease of banks’ obligations to crediting exposure, set in March 2009, in Vienna Agreement.

Central offices of 10 largest foreign banks that do business in Serbia have confirmed that they will continue crediting the Serbian economy, communicated the National Bank of Serbia.

An agreement has been achieved that the stabilization of macro-economic trends in Serbia has created conditions for the gradual decrease of banks’ obligations to crediting exposure, set in March 2009, in Vienna Agreement.

It envisaged that the foreign banks in Serbia cannot decrease the total amount of credits in comparison to 2008.

The new agreement in Vienna represents the support to the Serbian economy in the period of current crisis and the expression of belief that once the economic recovery sets in, positive trends will come.

It has been positively assessed that the third revision of the standby arrangement with IMF has ended successfully.

In Vienna the bankers have met with representatives of IMF, European Commission, EBRD, European Investment Bank, world Bank Group and the national Bank of Serbia.
