Ganic on Feb. 26 said that his delay in leaving London's Heathrow Airport was only due to his waiting for luggage, and denied that he was detained due to a warrant from Serbia.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic on Feb. 28 in Mitrovo Polje near Vrnjacka Banja confirmed that former Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency member Ejup Ganic was arrested in London on Feb. 26.

"It is absolutely true that Ejup Ganic was arrested in London, and that he was released after the arrest... [We] are now waiting for official information from London, after which we will decide about our next step," Dacic told reporters.

In early 2009, the Serbian Interior Ministry issued 19 arrest warrants for Bosnia and Herzegovina nationals involved in the May 1992 attack on a procession of Yugoslav National Army members in Sarajevo's Dobrovoljacka Street. The warrants included two former members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Ejup Ganic and Stjepan Kljuic.

Ganic on Feb. 26 said that his delay in leaving London's Heathrow Airport was only due to his waiting for luggage, and denied that he was detained due to a warrant from Serbia.
