According to him, there are two possible solutions - one is that the EU proposes, by way of amendments, a different formulation of the disputable parts of the resolution, which Serbia would accept and the UN GA vote for, and the other that Belgrade drafts a new resolution together with Spain and Greece.

Chairman of the Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Dragoljub Micunovic has assessed that it would be best for Serbia to reach agreement with the EU and the USA on the draft resolution it had submitted to the UN GA.

According to him, there are two possible solutions - one is that the EU proposes, by way of amendments, a different formulation of the disputable parts of the resolution, which Serbia would accept and the UN GA vote for, and the other that Belgrade drafts a new resolution together with Spain and Greece.

"We oppose the withdrawal of the resolution, since that would be a kind of capitulation in the sense that we did not do our homework properly, so we have to do it again. On the other hand, if the resolution did pass, we would find ourselves on the opposite side of Europe and the United States, which would considerably aggravate our relations in the long run," Micunovic said in an interview with Radio Free Europe.

"Therefore, the best solution is that we reach agreement with them (the EU and US)," he added.
