Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Toshio Tsunozaki on Sept. 21 opened an exhibition of 18th and 19th century prints by Japanese artists at the Valjevo People's Museum.

The exhibition, titled "Images of an Ephemeral World," is part of the "Year of Japan in Serbia" project, which included a series of events in Lazarevac, Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Gornji Milanovac and Jagodina.

A smaller exhibition of this Japanese art form was first presented as a preview of the project at the Valjevo museum in June 2009, where their display in Serbia is to conclude.

The exposition includes 34 ukiyoe prints from the 18th and 19th centuries, from the collection of Valjevo native Ninko Radosavljevic, who currently lives in Paris and is a great fan of this art form.
