Epoka e Re reports that Serbia’s President Boris Tadic could participate at the inauguration of Patriarch Irinej to be held on 3 October in Pec, if he makes an official request to the authorities of Kosovo.

Minister of the Internal Affairs Bajram Rexhepi, said for Kosovapress that Kosovo institutions do not impede anyone when religious rituals are concerned, and that there is no reason for that.

However, according to him, in order to participate at this ceremony, leaders of the Serbian state need the permission of Kosovo authorities.

“If he makes a proper request, in a regular manner, for religious rituals, we do not stop him,” said Rexhepi.
