The UNMIK Administration in the north of Mitrovica has turned out to be an obstacle of integration of this town and is helping the survival of parallel structures of Serbia in that part of Kosovo.
The Office of the Coordinator for the Implementation of the Strategy for the North of Kosovo, has evaluated in a report about the north of Kosovo, told Koha Ditore that UNMIK remaining in the north has been turned into a real obstacle for the improvement of the situation in the divided town.
“One of the main obstacles of the integration of south and north and for cooperation in the town of Mitrovica is the UNMIK Administration in Mitrovica”, says the report of the office led by Ylber Hysa.
The report reminds that the UNMIK Administration in the north of Mitrovica, UAM, was created with the purpose to replace Serb parallel structures in the north and in the area over the Iber River of Mitrovica and with the purpose of offering equal governance for all the communities, but during its existence this Administration has done completely the opposite.
“Because of violating its mandate and actions in non-transparent manner, UAM de facto helped the division between the Serb community and other communities in Mitrovica”, says the report. According to the report, the budget of the Kosovo Government allocated for the north, through UAM is passed to the administration of parallel structures.
In a separate box in Koha Ditore, under headline The wife of Bogdanovic receives salary from Kosovo Government that the report, among other things, tells also of one special employee who receives her salary from the Kosovo Government, but also from Belgrade. The wife of Minister for Kosovo in the Serb Government, Goran Bogdanovic, also has such a salary, according to the report.
