Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Milan Markovic and representatives of Serbian and Albanian political parties signed an agreement on establishing a multiethnic leadership in Bujanovac.

Markovic, who is also president of the Coordinating Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, pointed out that the formation of multiethnic authorities is a message to all investors to invest in this region, as it is clear that the local self-government in Bujanovac is a responsible one.

The Minister explained that the inclusion of two Serbian parties in the Bujanovac municipal leadership is a message stating that cooperation is a fundamental precondition for a normal life and the welfare of all citizens, voicing his hope that Presevo will follow suit.

The expansion of the Bujanovac leadership will enable speedier integration of Albanians in organs of the state and secure political stability, he noted.

According to the document, the Serbian parties will be given the position of assistant to municipal president, deputy head of the town council, head of one municipal administration, four members of the municipal council, director of the Bujanovac state pharmacy, director of the public library and deputy head of the Bujanovac health centre.
