Over the last three years 53 new hotels were opened in Serbia and a few very significant ones in last two months, State Secretary for Tourism Goran Petkovic told Tanjug.

Main characteristics of the new hotels are that they are smaller than before but with a better quality, and usually have three or four stars, which is good, Petkovic underscored.

Several hotels were also closed in the same period, among which are mostly the hotels with one or two stars.
