Members of the Belgrade University Senate have decided unanimously to award the honorary PhD title to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The suggestion had been initiated by the Law School, whose dean Mirko Vasiljevic has underlined that the Russian Prime Minister deserves the title for his actions on preserving the principles of the international law.

This way, the Belgrade University extends its gratitude not only to Putin, but also to numerous Russian professors who had marked the work of our university, emphasized Vasiljevic.

It has been stressed that Putin has also received the honorary title for his efforts in defending the territorial integrity of Serbia.

The award ceremony should take place during Putin’s visit to Belgrade, announced for March 23.
