Greek Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas said in Athens after meeting Interior Minister Ivica Dacic that Greece supports Serbia's endeavors for EU integration.

Serbia can count on Greece's support. Serbia and Greece have historic ties and cooperation in many fields, Droutsas told a joint press conference with Dacic.

Dacic thanked Greece for its support to Serbia's endeavors for EU integration, the Interior Ministry said in a release.

Dacic expressed gratitude to the people and government of Greece for their support to Serbia any time it had problems and to its endeavors for EU integration.

At a joint press conference with Greek Minister for Citizen Protection Christos Papoutsis, Dacic particularly pointed to the long traditional friendship and brotherhood of the Serbian and Greek peoples.

Papoutsis reiterated Greece's support to Serbia's endeavors for EU integration and said that this was one of the topics of his talks with Dacic.

Serbia is a friend and ally to Greece, Papoutsis said, adding that he conveyed to Dacic the support of the Greek prime ministrer and government to Serbia's endeavors for EU integration.
