SRS announces protest in Belgrade over Mladic's arrest

The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) expects that the protest the party will stage in Belgrade on Sunday over the arrest of ICTY indictee Ratko Mladic will go by without incidents, SRS official Vjerica Radeta has stated.
The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) expects that the protest the party will stage in Belgrade on Sunday over the arrest of ICTY indictee Ratko Mladic will go by without incidents, SRS official Vjerica Radeta has stated.
Radeta stated at a news conference that, in accordance with the law, the rally dubbed Cooperation with the ICTY represents betrayal of Serbia's national interests, was registered with the police 72 hours ahead.
The protest is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time in front of the Serbian parliament building in downtown Belgrade.
Radeta said that she expects no incidents or disorderly behavior, taking into account that SRS supporters have never been part of any extremist groups.
The SRS protest will not be banned as it was duly registered with the police, Tanjug learned. However, the Serbian Interior Ministry stated that all other gatherings which were not registered will be banned, such as the protest of the Nasi 1389 movement, announced to be held at the same time and place as the SRS rally.
