The dinar will slightly weaken against the euro by 7 paras or 0.07 percent on Monday, thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 96.9908, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.

On May 19, the central bank announced that it would buy a total of EUR 40 million at the interbank foreign exchange market in the next 20 days, which it does on a daily basis, but the data on daily purchases are not published.
According to Serbian analysts, in the recent period the dinar has strengthened against the euro thanks to the fact that foreign investors have been selling euros and investing into the Serbian treasury securities.
In 2011, the Serbian currency hit its lowest level against the euro on January 6, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 106.4947, while it reached its highest level on May 23, with the exchange rate at RSD 96.7007.
Since the introduction of the common European currency on January 1, 2002, the dinar slumped to the weakest versus the euro on November 4, 2010, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 107.5216.
