Reduction of poverty, regional imbalance an absolute priority

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic today chaired a session of the new composition of the Sustainable Development Council at which he presented a report on the progress of implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy and Action Plan for 2010.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic today chaired a session of the new composition of the Sustainable Development Council at which he presented a report on the progress of implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy and Action Plan for 2010.
The report indicates progress in certain areas of sustainable development, but bearing in mind that the situation has aggravated in comparison with the previous report, it has been concluded that priorities in the period ahead should be the reduction of poverty and regional discrepancies, energy efficiency and greater use of renewable energy sources.
The Council stressed the need for an inter-sector approach in achieving planned goals and joint definitions and implementation of specific projects.
