Too long election process, lack of proper laws on public procurements, weak battle against corruption and crime, failure to implement court decisions and strengthen the role of ombudsman are main omissions of Kosmet institutions that will be mentioned in the report
European Commission’s Director of Balkan Affairs Pierre Mirel has stated that over the past year the interim Kosmet institutions have not made any visible progress in the reforms, while stressing that the forthcoming report of the European Commission on the situation in the Province might be negative.
Too long election process, lack of proper laws on public procurements, weak battle against corruption and crime, failure to implement court decisions and strengthen the role of ombudsman are main omissions of Kosmet institutions that will be mentioned in the report.
Mirel has added that the biggest challenge before Kosmet, but also others in the region, is to strengthen the rule of the law.
