The episcope has expressed worry over the recent discussion in the World Heritage Committee in Paris, when an attempt was made to rename the Pec Patriarchy and monasteries Visoki Decani, Gracanica and Mother Goddess of Ljeviska into the Kosmet heritage.
Episcope of Raska and Prizren Theodosius has warned that the Serb cultural heritage in Kosmet is put into danger through needless politicization.
In a letter to UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, he has pointed that each new attempt to alienate the Serb heritage in Kosmet from Serbia leads to its assimilation and loss of identity, which is guaranteed by the international community.
The episcope has expressed worry over the recent discussion in the World Heritage Committee in Paris, when an attempt was made to rename the Pec Patriarchy and monasteries Visoki Decani, Gracanica and Mother Goddess of Ljeviska into the Kosmet heritage.
Theodosius has emphasized that such act would seriously imperil the protection of those UNESCO monuments of World Heritage.
According to him, it would have grave consequences, having in mind that in the past 12 years more than 150 Serb sanctities have been destroyed or damaged in the territory of Kosmet.
