A strong explosion which occurred in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday, 30 minutes after midnight, damaged one passenger vehicle, but no one was injured.

Tanjug new agency learned from the Kosovo police that the device was activated on a parking lot in front of a residential building located behind the police station in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.

The damaged car - an Audi - belongs to a person employed by EULEX as an interpreter.

The Kosovo police investigated the scene, but are waiting for a specialized KFOR unit to determine the type of explosive used, the police source pointed out.

The blast woke up and disturbed residents who live close to the site of the incident.
