Police goes on strike

\Members of the Police Union of Serbia (PSS) started a work-to-rule strike on Monday morning, dissatisfied with poor financial position of employees of the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP).

\Members of the Police Union of Serbia (PSS) started a work-to-rule strike on Monday morning, dissatisfied with poor financial position of employees of the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP).

PSS President Veljko Mijailovic told Tanjug that 90 percent of police administrations in Serbia have started a strike, including the Border Police.

Mijailovic said that PSS is supported by non-union employees of MUP, as well as representatives of other unions.
PSS has about 15,000 members.

PSS demands for the improvement of financial and social status of all MUP employees, new systematization, implementation of the Special collective agreement for police officers, amendments to the Law on police, as well as new uniforms and equipment.
