Kosovo should be represented at regional forums and in regional initiatives under the name recognized by 87 countries in the world, Kosovo's President Atifete Jahjaga said Tuesday in a meeting with EU mediator in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Robert Cooper.
In the meeting which also involved EU special rapporteur for Kosovo Samuel Zbogar and Director for Western Balkans at the European Commission Fernando Gentilini, Kosovo's president said the relations between Kosovo and Serbia should be based on reciprocity, her office said in a release.
Jahjaga stressed it is important to discuss issues of mutual interest with Serbia, noting the results of the talks should be in line with the best European standards and practice and their implementation should be guaranteed by the EU.
Noting that the talks between Belgrade and Pristina to date have resulted in some progress, Cooper inquired about Jahjaga's position regarding regional representation of Kosovo, says the release.
Also on Tuesday, Cooper met with head of Pristina's negotiating team and Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, but no statements were released after the meeting.
Cooper and Tahiri met in an effort to reconcile views on a solution for Kosovo's regional representation, which is a condition for the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
