Japanese drummers' group Yamato will perform in the Belgrade Arena on Tuesday in the scope of a tour dubbed Gamushara - The Beat of Courage, Arena has announced.
This fascinating troop, which performed in Belgrade two years ago, comprises 14 performers whose instruments weigh more than a ton and are more than 400 years old.
The biggest drum - popular Wadaiko weighs more than 450 kg and requires special equipment in order to be brought to stage.
Besides being the ultimate art skill, Yamato's performances are entertaining and witty, and include interaction with audience.
When not on stage, the drummers have very strict daily routine: they get up at 7 am, run 10 kilometers, do weight training, practice drumming together in the afternoon, after which individual practice continues till they go to bed.
Yamato drummers spend six to ten months in a year abroad. They have had over 300 appearances in more then 45 countries so far.
Yamato has performed at the Edinburgh Festival, the greatest art event in the world, where the group won the "Spirit of the Fringe" award.
The show in Belgrade will consist of two parts, each lasting for 50 minutes.
Tickets are sold at a price of RSD 2,300, 2,600, 2,950 and 3,500 each.
