Over 55,000 remain without power supplies in Moscow region

Electric power supplies are still disrupted at 44 socially important facilities, including 12 health care facilities, 29 educational institutions and three round-the-clock facilities. Some 170 transformer power substations are cut from electric power supplies.

Over 55,000 people remain without electric power supplies in the Moscow Region, the press service of the Moscow regional EMERCOM department told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“Twenty municipal districts are still cut from electric power supplies at 6 a.m. Moscow time. Some 320 settlements, 5,805 residential houses, where more than 55,000 people live, suffer from power outages,” the press service reported.

Electric power supplies are still disrupted at 44 socially important facilities, including 12 health care facilities, 29 educational institutions and three round-the-clock facilities. Some 170 transformer power substations are cut from electric power supplies.

About 6,000 people are cleaning up the aftermath of the power outages triggered by heavy snowfalls and an icy wire.
