The slow pace of the recounting of votes process and the end-of-year festivities have led to further delays, reports Koha Ditore noting that the process is now expected to end by 3 or 4 January.

Head of CEC Valdete Daka announced the recount is not likely to end this year as the number of staff working in the counting and results centre has been halved.

“The process will resume but the work will be carried out only in one shift because the majority of international staff has gone home for the holidays,” said Daka.
