Russia remains an open country and hails readiness of the foreign companies to contribute to various sectors of the Russian economy, including the mass media.

A statement to this effect was made by President Dmitry Medvedev during a session of the National Media Group in Moscow on Thursday.

He recalled that quite a few EU countries still oppose the participation of foreign investors in these countries’ media sector.

Russia, for its part, continues to encourage such collaboration, which, Medvedev said, makes it possible to resolve a number of investment tasks.

Investment AB Kinnevik CEO Christina Stenbeck said in turn that her family has been investing in Russia for 25 years now.

She touted Russia as a leading partner in terms of potential and development.
