Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Friday met with representatives of the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) for talks on the government's measures designed to help economic recovery.
The HUP representatives said those measures were a step in the right direction. It was agreed that other short- and long-term measures should be adopted soon to help increase industrial output, GDP and spending as well as to reduce unemployment.
It was concluded that HUP would appoint its representative to the commission for the use of European Union funds.
Kosor said all economic recovery measures would also be discussed by the Economic and Social Council, as their implementation was possible only through dialogue and a consensus between all social partners.
It was also agreed that government and HUP representatives should continue cooperating in proposing and adopting measures to expedite economic recovery and implement Croatia's long-term economic development strategy.
To that end it was agreed that next week Kosor and the HUP leadership would discuss concrete ways of resolving problems in some sectors of the Croatian economy.
