Bulgarian citizens keep close to EUR 200 million in Swiss banks, the National Revenue Agency said.
Information about savings is submitted annually to NRA under the European Savings Directive. All those individuals will be inspected by the Revenue Agency.
This became clear following the visit of NRA CEO Krassimir Stefanov to the German Finance Ministry. They have to prove whether they have official incomes to be able to hold savings in Switzerland.
The information on two CDs bought by the German government, is confidential and cannot be subject to public commentaries, however the German authorities have declared that they would deliver to the Bulgarian side any information related to Bulgarian nationals, it transpired after the meeting.
