Representatives of the Council against Albin Kurti‟s trial have submitted a petition with 150,000 signatures of citizens that request closing of the trial against Kurti and start of investigations on the murders during the 10 February 2007 Vetëvendosja protest.

Dailies report that representatives of the Council against Albin Kurti‟s trial, which involves 65 nongovernmental organizations, have submitted yesterday to the Assembly Chairperson Jakup Krasniqi, a petition with 150,000 signatures of citizens that request closing of the trial against Kurti and start of investigations on the murders during the 10 February 2007 Vetëvendosja protest.

“There cannot be a decision, but recommendations, yes. Two Kosovo citizens were killed on 10 February, and nobody was held responsible. It is completely incomprehensible to me, for the temple of democracy, not to discuss this problem,” said Valon Murati after the meeting with Krasniqi.

He said that there was a good atmosphere in the meeting with Assembly Chairperson, who promised that these signatures would be handed to the respective commission and treated in one of the coming Assembly sessions.
