Romania: Train fares to go up 8 pct starting September 20

Train fares established by the Romanian Railway Passengers (CFR) will be hiked by 8 percent as from September 20, the company informs.

Train fares established by the Romanian Railway Passengers (CFR) will be hiked by 8 percent as from September 20, the company informs.

Travel facilities provided by CFR until now still apply even after the increase, in line with the principles related to frequent users' protection, by continuing to grant full fare discounts of 50 percent for commutation tickets and 75 percent for school children and students' commutation tickets.

The last fare adjustment to date conducted by CFR was September 1, 2007.
