Albania's parliament has lifted the immunity of a former economy minister accused of corruption, a week after the country's former deputy PM's immunity was lifted.
Lawmakers voted 119-3 Thursday to lift the immunity of Dritan Prifti for allegedly taking a €70,000 bribe while economy minister from 2009-2010. He denies the allegation.
The vote will allow a full probe into the allegations, which surfaced after Prifti accused then-deputy PM Ilir Meta of trying to influence him over a state tender for a hydropower station. Meta, who denies wrongdoing, resigned and had his immunity lifted last week.
The tender scandal prompted a political crisis, with the opposition demanding the government's resignation.
