ZagrebDox festival to open on Feb. 27

The international documentary film festival ZagrebDox, featuring 150 films, will be held at Zagreb's Movieplex cinema from February 27 to March 6, a news conference was told on Wednesday.

The international documentary film festival ZagrebDox, featuring 150 films, will be held at Zagreb's Movieplex cinema from February 27 to March 6, a news conference was told on Wednesday.

The festival's director, Nenad Puhovski, told reporters that more than 50 documentaries would be competing in international and regional categories and that one-third of them were Croatian films.

The festival will include a retrospective of Croatian war documentaries with 21 films made during the 1991-1995 Homeland War.

The 150 films to be shown at ZagrebDox include the first film on WikiLeaks, produced by the Swedish television, the film "Natascha Kampusch - 3092 Days in Captivity", the Irish film "The Pipe", about the fight of Irish fishermen and farmers against the petrochemical giant Shell, the US documentary "Once Brothers" about the friendship between the basketball players Drazen Petrovic and Vlade Divac, who will be a guest at the festival, the Polish documentary "A Piece of Summer", the Swiss film "Goodnight Nobody", and the Dutch film "Position Among the Stars".
