The first Pride Parade in Podgorica, which was set to take place May 31, has been postponed because the state bodies did not exhibit commitment and professionalism in the organization of the event, the organizing committee announced Tuesday.

Over the last two months, the organizers have insisted that a deputy prime minister or cabinet minister be appointed as head of the committee, and address the participants of the parade after the walk.

The government supported the parade in word only, without undertaking any concrete activities, assessed the organizing committee.

"They would support anything in word only, but when something concrete needs to be done, especially when their presence is required, a problem arises," it was said at the news conference, Montenegrin agency MINA reported.
