An investigative judge of Basic Court Skopje 1 ordered late Monday a 30-day detention for Ljube Boskoski, United for Macedonia (OM) leader and former Minister of Interior, who was arrested yesterday under the suspicion of illegal financing of the election campaign and abuse of official position.

Boskoski's lawyer Ljubomir Mihajlovski has confirmed that Boskoski is suspected of the two crime acts.

"The entire situation is quite confusing, we will give more details next week", said Mihajlovski.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Ivo Kotevski said EUR 100,000 and a gun were found during Boskoski's search.

He stressed the MoI has also documented two other cases where the suspect illicitly took money in the amount of EUR 20,000 and EUR 10,000, which were used in the campaign, adding the same individual handed Boskoki the money in the above-mentioned cases.
