Macroeconomic trends in Macedonia and worldwide, particularly in the Euro zone and US, ongoing infrastructure, energy projects and direct foreign investments in agriculture were the main subjects of discussion at the first session of the Government's Economic Council, being held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
Macroeconomic trends in Macedonia and worldwide, particularly in the Euro zone and US, ongoing infrastructure, energy projects and direct foreign investments in agriculture were the main subjects of discussion at the first session of the Government's Economic Council, being held on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
The Council is a new Government's body, made up of permanent members - chairperson, ministers of economy, National Bank Governor, and other officials in charge of economic affairs.
The setting up of this Council is a result of the Government's efforts to give grater priority to the economy, Gruevski said, pointing out that the body will also have non-permanent members, such as academicians, businessmen.
The Council, which in some countries is called an 'economic government', will have regular meetings each Monday, to discuss economic projects - part of the Government's Working Program for 2011-2015, as well as the developments that could have influence on the national economy.
This body should contribute to better living standard for the citizens of Macedonia, opening of new jobs, Gruevski said.
