PM Berisha, Macedonian FM discuss closer cooperation

Minister Popovski expressed his impression over fundamental changes in Albania, in particular, regarding road infrastructure development, renewable energy production, and important achievements of Albanian government in economic development, as well as fiscal reforms in the economy and reforms for good governance.

Welcoming him, Premier Berisha assured Foreign Minister of Macedonia Popovski of will and determination of Albanian government to intensify relations between two countries in all fields in the best interest of both nations.

Thanking Premier Berisha for the reception, Minister Popovski conveyed most heartfelt greetings of Premier Gruevski and reconfirmed determination of his country and government of Macedonia for intensification of cooperation relations in all fields.

At the meeting, parts expressed special pleasure over the very good relations between two nations, as well as considered as important the completion of infrastructure projects between two countries, which will enable facilitation of this cooperation and bring these neighboring countries closer.

They considered as important the road projects, part of Corridor 8, unification of railway roads, construction of interconnection lines, as well as a closer cooperation in the field of tourism.

Minister Popovski expressed his impression over fundamental changes in Albania, in particular, regarding road infrastructure development, renewable energy production, and important achievements of Albanian government in economic development, as well as fiscal reforms in the economy and reforms for good governance.

During the meeting, parts pointed also to importance of eliminations of barriers in region countries, such as Albania, Macedonia, Kosova, Macedonia, Montenegro, building a similar model to the successful model created by EU countries.

Premier Berisha and Foreign Minister of Macedonia Popovski reconfirmed commitment of governments of two countries to move ahead with EU membership process, as the best future for two region countries.
