ForMin Baconschi introduces in Berlin Romanian opportunities for German investments

The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) reports in a press release that at the meeting with the German officials Baconschi discussed current economic and political affairs, with emphasis on the economic reforms going on in Romania and the business opportunities offered by Romania.
Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi on Tuesday introduced Romanian opportunities for German investments at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Berlin Land's Chamber of Deputies Uwe Lehman-Brauns and MP Secretary of State with the German Ministry of Economy and Technology and co-chairman of the Romanian-German Cooperation Council Peter Hintze, during the first day of a visit to Berlin.

'With a deficit under control and a moderate, yet real economic growth, Romania has entered an encouraging trend that proves how responsible the incumbent Romanian Government is before its EU partners amidst the worrying realities of the ongoing economic and financial crisis,' said Baconschi. Hintze is quoted as having underscored the importance of trade between Germany and Romania and its rising dynamic.
Romania's prospects for accession to the border-free Schengen Area was also mentioned. Baconschi firmly defended Romania's stance and underscored the danger generated by the breach of the EU rules. The German officials promised support for a constructive approach of Romania's accession to the Schengen Area, MAE reports.
Baconschi also held a news conference about the future of the European design, at the headquarters of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. At the end of the first day of his visit, Baconschi met officials of the Romanian community of Berlin, at the Romanian Embassy.
