The organizers of the protests said that after yet another speculative increase of fuel prices last week, the Bulgarian people should stop relying on the Commission for the Protection of Competition and should increase the public pressure on the government.
Civic Association Sila has organized protests on Sunday in several cities of the country under the slogan "Say no to exorbitant fuel prices and the outrageously low standard of living".
The organizers of the protests said that after yet another speculative increase of fuel prices last week, the Bulgarian people should stop relying on the Commission for the Protection of Competition and should increase the public pressure on the government.
Fuel prices are a government policy and it is high time the state took action to the benefit of all citizens, the statement said. The protest in Sofia involved dozens of cars parked in front of the Parliament.
In Varna, protesters were pushing their cars instead of driving them in an effort to show that they have no money for gasoline.
