All speculations on how and where the territorial claim raised by Romania could be resolved are not only pointless but also harmful to finding a solution to the current situation.

All speculations on how and where the territorial claim raised by Romania could be resolved are not only pointless but also harmful to finding a solution to the current situation.

This is what Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Mladenov told Bulgarian reporters after the session of EU’s Foreign Affairs Council.

This statement came as a reaction to the claims made by Romania over a disputed zone in the Black Sea. Bulgaria and Romania have an agreement to work and negotiate directly and so far these negotiations have been running in a constructive, albeit slow, dialogue.

The next round of the negotiations is to be held in Bucharest and its date is to be soon specified when the controversy over the Black sea zone calms down, Minister Mladenov pointed out.
