Bodies of five killed men were found last night in Skopje, Macedonian online edition Plus info reported. The corpses were found by fishermen in the area of the Jelezar Lake.

The police have no information about the circumstances for the crime yet. There were fired cartridges and blood traces around the bodies.

Media reported unofficial findings and statements by local people, according to which the young men were most likely of Macedonian nationality, aged 18 to 20, whose bodies had visible exit wounds.

Macedonia's Interior Ministry announced that it had formed an operational staff whose job was to coordinate the activities toward clearing up the brutal murder.

Residents of the settlement near the Macedonian capital in which the bodies were found took to the streets, set up barricades and are paying respects to their dead fellow citizens.

Some websites posted speculations about the possible motive for the murder, and one of the claims is that it was a revenge for the recent murder of two young men of Albanian nationality in the Macedonian city of Gostivar.

The three young men were killed by a police officer who was attacked while walking in the company of his minor daughter.
