Serb returnees have been intimidated by the flyers troops of the Albanian People's Army distributed in several villages in Metohija, calling for their displacement from Kosovo-Metohija, Jovic Jovic, official of the village of Klinavac (in the municipality of Klina), told Tanjug.
Serb returnees have been intimidated by the flyers troops of the Albanian People's Army distributed in several villages in Metohija, calling for their displacement from Kosovo-Metohija, Jovic Jovic, official of the village of Klinavac (in the municipality of Klina), told Tanjug.
Jovic said that the flyers, in which Serbs are referred to as "criminals, either directly or indirectly," have aroused fear among the returnees in Klinavac and other nearby villages.
The flyers appeared on Monday, and were placed on the thresholds of Serbs' houses in Drsnik, Berkovo and Klina, villages inhabited by a total of some 100 Serb families, Jovic said.
"We are trying not to prejudge anything. We will inform all institutions in Kosovo and central Serbia about this, as we do not want to conceal these serious threats," he underlined.
"We have not reported the case to the police, because we do not trust them. KFOR told us that the police know about this and that they will be patrolling the villages, but we have not run accross any of them as yet," Jovic added.
The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija condemned the flyers threatening Serb returnees, and called on EULEX to establish who is responsible for the threats. The Ministry also urged KFOR to reinforce their troops in the returnee villages.
