Russian Partriarch Kirill meets with Bulgaria's highest state officials

During the second day of his official visit to Bulgaria, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill met with Bulgaria's President Rossen Plevneliev, Parliamentary Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and PM Boyko Borissov.
During the second day of his official visit to Bulgaria, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill met with Bulgaria's President Rossen Plevneliev, Parliamentary Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and PM Boyko Borissov.
During the meeting with the president, they shared the opinion that the religious and cultural past of the two countries obliges state institutions and statesmen to be responsible for the boosting of bilateral relations.
In parliament, Patriarch Kirill met with Tsetska Tsacheva and gave her a book and an Easter egg encrusted with jewels. She presented him with a painting of the Glozhene Monastery and told him interesting facts about the history of Bulgarian parliament.
In parliament, Patriach Kirill also received as a gift an icon of Saint Ivan of Rila. PM Borissov went outside to personally meet His Excellency Kirill.
According to the tradition for this time of the year, the Russian Patriarch gave a jewel-encrusted Easter egg to Borissov and the PM kissed his hand and gave him as a gift a silver-coated copy of the Cherepish Gospel, one of the most famous hand-written gospels in Bulgarian history created in 1612.
