Pristina dailies report that AKR leader Behxhet Pacolli on Monday had a meeting with the representative of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Ali Al-Baldawi, calling on him that Iraq should recognize the independence of Kosovo.

“I requested an initiative to be launched in the Iraqi Parliament to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state. I received promises that an initiative will be launched immediately to form a club of parliamentary friendship between the Parliament of Iraq and the Parliament of Kosovo and to launch the initiative for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence,” Pacolli was quoted as saying.
Lajm reports that Pacolli will visit Iraq in the summer, as he believes it is necessary to present the truth about Kosovo there.
