Chairman of the Serbian government committee on missing persons Veljko Odalovic said Monday that missing persons should be one of the priorities for the coming talks between Serbia and Kosovo.

Chairman of the Serbian government committee on missing persons Veljko Odalovic said Monday that missing persons should be one of the priorities for the coming talks between Serbia and Kosovo.

"The issue of missing persons and their fate constitutes a civilizational and humanitarian issue, but could also be a political one now," Odalovic told the Radio and Television of Serbia.

According to him, discovering the fate of the missing people in Kosovo and the entire region is "an important prerequisite for stabilization and better relations in general."

A number of cases are beinng investigated, but the process should not stop there, said Odalovic.

He hopes the majority will come to understand that and there will be no delays regarding the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which would help improve relations an open all other topics.

Everyday life in Kosovo is the most important thing, but several other matters also require the attention of the international community, like the 400 bodies that have been lying in a Pristina mortuary for the past ten years waiting to be identified, Odalovic stated.
