European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele will hand the Serbian authorities in Belgrade a European Commission Questionnaire on European reforms in Serbia at the start of next week, which will serve as the basis for a later EC evaluation of Serbia's readiness to be granted candidacy status.
Fuele said this in the European Parliament in Brussels on Nov. 16, at a round table called "The Western Balkans in the Heart of Europe."
The event was organized by the right-wing People's Party caucus. A number of leading politicians and government members from the Western Balkans also participated in the event.
The European commissioner stressed that, in addition to implementing reforms in the country "an accommodating approach to Kosovo's participation in regional trade and cooperation is also important for Serbia."
"Cooperation with the EU rule of law mission EULEX must also be bolstered, where the north of Kosovo is concerned," he said.
