Djelic pointed out that Serbia and the EU must find a common solution to the problem by March 22, when the committee assigned to monitor the implementation of the SAA will meet in Brussels.

The Serbian government has not yet received an official response from the EU as to whether the new law on excise taxes on fuel imports is contrary to the SAA, Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said.

Djelic pointed out that Serbia and the EU must find a common solution to the problem by March 22, when the committee assigned to monitor the implementation of the SAA will meet in Brussels.

"We certainly will not allow Serbia to attend the meeting without previously resolving the excise issue with our European partners," Djelic told a news conference at government headquarters.
