Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac said during his visit to Nigeria that there is a great interest of Nigeria in the products of the Serbian defence industry.

Sutanovac expressed the hope that modalities for the placement of Serbian products in Nigeria as well as for joint investment in the development of certain products will be found.

The Defence Minister recalled that an Agreement on cooperation in the field of defence was signed with Nigeria during the visit of Nigerian Minister of Defence Adetokunbo Kayode to Belgrade in March this year.

This agreement has opened the doors for further cooperation in the field of education of officers and cadets at military academies in Serbia, as well as for cooperation in the field of military health and defence industry.

He stressed that there is a great interest on the Nigerian side for joint participation in peacekeeping missions, but also in investment programmes for equipping and modernisation of the Nigerian Army.

Sutanovac attended the ceremony of inauguration of Nigerian President Jonathan Goodluck and met with the President of Ghana John Atta Mills.
