Factory for production of medical needle destruction devices opens

The American patent “Sharps Terminator”, whose most parts (85%) are manufactured in Serbia, is a mobile device for the disposal of medical needles and can be used to destroy all kinds of steel and aluminum needles right after their usage.

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric opened Friday in Knic “Sharps Terminator” factory for production of medical needle-destruction devices.

Ciric expressed his pride in the fact that this factory will be the only one in the world to manufacture this new technological device developed by Serbian and US engineers and which will be distributed all around the world from Serbia.

This patent is an excellent example of joint Serbian and US enterprise resulting in the export of goods worth $120 million annually.

Representatives of the factory awarded the Minister with three devices to be donated to the Children’s University Clinic in Tirsova, the Mother and Child Health Care Institute in New Belgrade and the Military Medical Academy.

The American patent “Sharps Terminator”, whose most parts (85%) are manufactured in Serbia, is a mobile device for the disposal of medical needles and can be used to destroy all kinds of steel and aluminum needles right after their usage.

The investment, including the development of the patent, prototypes, factory models, investment in the factory and distribution system, is approximately $12 million worth and it is expected that annual production of 150,000 devices will return $120 million.
