1.75 million employed people in Serbia

A total number of employed persons in Serbia in September 2011 amounted to 1,754,662, the magazine 'Conjuncture Trends of Serbia', issued by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, stated.

A total number of employed persons in Serbia in September 2011 amounted to 1,754,662, the magazine 'Conjuncture Trends of Serbia', issued by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, stated.

The data include private entrepreneurs and their employees, number of which was 405, 476, whereas the remaining 1,349,186 were employed in the scope of companies and administrative activities.

When compared to August, the number of employed people slightly decreased, while in comparison with September 2010 it dropped as much as 1.1 percent.

At the end of September 2011, the number of the unemployed reached 742,576, down 0.4 percent from August 2011, but up 3 percent from September 2010.

Registered unemployment rate is still declining, and in September 2011 it amounted to 27.2 percent.
