Representatives of ruling parties expect the Serbian government will finalize the draft declaration on Kosovo on Friday, so that it can go before the parliament on Saturday, November 12, while the opposition again criticized the government claiming it is delaying the session on Kosovo.

While waiting for the draft declaration to go into parliamentary procedure, the biggest party in the ruling coalition, the Democratic Party, expects all majority parties will stick to the platform on which the incumbent government was formed.

Serbian President Boris Tadic also expects agreement will be reached regarding the draft declaration, since the document acknowledges both the interest to solve the crisis in Kosovo and to increase, through the European integration process, the state's capacity to defend state and national interests in the province.

"Agreement is possible. If the politicians in Serbia are responsible enough, considering the need to solve the challenges in Kosovo and to increase, through the European integration process, the capacity to fight for our interests in the province, they will vote in favor of the declaration," said the Serbian president.

However, the Serbian Renewal Movement, which is also part of the ruling coalition, warned it will not vote for the declaration if the policy on Kosovo is not changed and Serbs are not urged to remove the barricades.

Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic has said the highest legislative body should meet toward the end of the week.
