Serbia recorded a USD 399.9 million surplus in the trade of agricultural and food products in the first four months of 2012, a 9.8 percent rise compared to the same period last year, according to Vojislav Stankovic, an advisor with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).

Between January and April, the country exported USD 841.6 million in agricultural and food products, while importing USD 441.7 million. The export/import coverage ratio was 190.5 percent, he told Tanjug.
Export rose by 4.3 percent compared to January-April 2011, with a 24.7 percent share in the total export of goods, while import went up 0.2 percent and accounted for 7.1 percent of the import total.
