NATO demonstrates convoy protection technology

Remotely controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs), pressure plates, vehicle borne IEDs and suicide bombers are some of the security threats that a NATO convoy can face on the road.

On 26 October, NATO demonstrated the use of new technology and procedures in protecting convoys at the Belgian armed forces barracks in Peutie, Belgium.

Remotely controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs), pressure plates, vehicle borne IEDs and suicide bombers are some of the security threats that a NATO convoy can face on the road.

The event presented a complete route clearance package that convoys can use to safely reach their destination.
