Bulgaria is among the countries that should be visited in 2011, recommends the tourist guide Lonely Planet. The country ranks 5th in a chart presenting the 10 must-visit destinations in 2011.

Bulgaria has always had its charms, the guide says – a charm to be found in its big cities, snow-covered mountains, ski-tracks, beaches of golden sand and the ancient ports along the Black Sea coast.

The country receives a lot of attention as an EU member state. The winter resorts are an inexpensive alternative; there are still pristine places along the Black Sea coast and the wine industry is blooming, says Lonely Planet.
