Some 5,422 road accidents have been registered on the territory of the country since the turn of the year, which is so far 533 less accidents compared to the previous year. 662 people (101 less then in 2009) died in car crashes, while 6,662 got injured (-657), which points at improvement of the organization of the work aiming at safe driving.

The ‘Lights On’ campaign is organized for more than 15 years in Bulgaria and aims at preparing the motor vehicles for the autumn-winter conditions.

One of the requirements is for drivers to turn their light on. Authorities also give useful advises about how drivers should exploit their motor vehicles in winter to secure safe driving and avoid accidents.
